IT law i.e. Information Technology Act Under Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, it is prohibited to send such messages through computers and communication devices, which cause trouble, inconvenience, danger, disturbance, insult, injury, criminal incitement, enmity or malice. Even if you have not made any such post but have commented or shared it, you still come under this law. Violation of this can lead to imprisonment of up to three years and fine.
