A growing number of older workers are being forced to adapt to artificial intelligence as job insecurity rises, with many turning to AI-related roles or training just to stay afloat. A recent report by The Guardian highlights how experienced professionals, some with decades of expertise, are struggling to find stable employment and are instead entering the emerging world of AI training and gig-based tech work. The shift reflects a bigger change in the labour market Many of these workers are not choosing AI careers out of passion, but out of necessity. Stories from the report include individuals who, despite strong…
Motorola’s latest smartphones are getting some sweet carrier deals. From the latest foldables to the budget models, the company is starting promotions on two major US carriers, although the approach is slightly different. T-Mobile is leaning hard into the first-ever Motorola Razr Fold, while Verizon is making the regular Motorola Razr 2026 and Moto G 2026 easier to grab for customers who want something cheaper. T-Mobile gets the flashiest Razr deal The Motorola Razr, Motorola Razr+, and Motorola Razr Fold are all headed to the T-Mobile network. The flip and notebook-style foldable phones are arriving on May 28, 2026, while…
If you have ever wished you could hear your favourite song in a completely different style, or put your own spin on it? Spotify is about to make that happen. The streaming platform announced a new AI-powered tool that will let Premium subscribers create covers and remixes of songs from participating artists. The tool comes out of a landmark licensing deal between Spotify and Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music company, whose roster includes Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Sabrina Carpenter, and Post Malone. It will launch as a paid add-on for Premium subscribers, though no release date or exact…
The M5 MacBook Air 15-inch is down to $1,149.99 at Amazon, its lowest price in the last 30 days and an $150 saving off its $1,299 list price. This is the base 16GB configuration, which suits most everyday users well, and the M5 chip, Wi-Fi 7, and Apple Intelligence support make it the most capable version of Apple’s most popular laptop to date. What you’re getting The M5 chip brings improved CPU and GPU performance over the M4, but where it makes the most meaningful difference is in AI workloads. The more capable Neural Engine underpins Apple Intelligence, which covers…
Finnish smartphone brand HMD has launched a new budget phone in India, and it looks quite familiar. The phone is called the HMD Vibe 2 5G, and its back panel appears to take more than just inspiration from the iPhone 17 Pro. It has a wide camera bar stretching across much of the upper rear panel, just like Apple’s latest Pro iPhone, but with only two cameras instead of three. A very familiar kind of futuristic What makes the design choice more amusing is HMD’s own marketing. In its promotional images, the company describes the phone as having a “futuristic…
Magic Cue, I’d say, was the kind of feature that made me excited about the Pixel 10 launch. However, after the on-stage demo, the feature hardly showed up in day-to-day usage, much less in a useful way. Google apparently noticed. At I/O 2026, the company quietly announced that the feature is getting an expansion, along with a possible redesign. While it wasn’t the headline announcement, it could surely be something that makes Pixel 10 users excited again. What is Magic Cue doing differently now? The core idea behind the feature hasn’t changed. It runs entirely on-device, reads context from your…
ASUS is refining and polishing its latest Zenbook lineup. With the Zenbook S16 and Zenbook S14 now available in the U.S., the brand is doubling down on performance, design, and a heavy dose of on-device AI. AI is everywhere right now, and ASUS is leaning into it in a way that actually makes sense. Both the Zenbook S16 and S14 are designed to handle AI tasks locally, enabling faster processing, smoother workflows, and reduced reliance on the cloud. Whether it is creative tools, multitasking, or general system responsiveness, the idea is simple: your laptop should keep up without hesitation. Zenbook S16: A laptop that…
That VPN you are running on your Android 16 device may not be doing as much as you think. A newly discovered bug in Android 16 allows any app on your device to send traffic outside your VPN tunnel, exposing your real IP address to the internet, regardless of which VPN you use or how locked down your settings are. The vulnerability was first reported by a Zurich-based security engineer going by the handle @cybaqkebm, and was later flagged by VPN provider Mullvad, which confirmed the bug affects all VPN apps on Android 16, not just its own. Your options…
This republished article first appeared in the National Review. Brave new world alert! Scientists used a machine deployed in organ transplant medicine to keep a surgically removed human uterus alive for one day, furthering the goal of being able to use donated uteri experimentally over long periods of time, including for gestation. From the MIT Technology story: The team members want to keep donated human uteruses alive long enough to see a full menstrual cycle. They hope this will help them study diseases of the uterus and learn more about how embryos burrow their way into the organ’s lining at the start of…
For years, victims of revenge porn and nonconsensual deepfake imagery had almost no reliable way to get that content taken down. State laws were all over the place, and tech platforms either dragged their feet or simply did not act. That is finally changing. As of May 19, the Take It Down Act is now in full effect across the United States. It requires online platforms to remove nonconsensual intimate images, real or AI-generated, within 48 hours of receiving a valid report. Platforms that fail to comply face civil penalties of up to $53,088 per violation. The act casts a…
