Anyone with an iPhone should check their settings for iOS 26.2.
Own an iPhone? You’ll definitely want to check for a major update from Apple, which has just been released to devices across the globe. It’s called iOS 26.2, and it’s packed with over 10 new features including improved ways to customise the look, new alarms for reminding you about events and a big change to Apple’s AirDrop function, which now lets you generate a code before sending files wirelessly – this is aimed at making things more secure.
Other changes in iOS 26.2 include Apple Music being updated with offline lyrics, allowing you to sing along without an internet connection. The popular Podcasts section now automatically generates chapters, making it easier to navigate episodes. Gaming has also had a boost and even includes support for connected controllers such as Backbone and Razer.
Checking for this blockbuster release on your iPhone is easy. All you need to do is head to Settings – General – Software Update. You should then see the iOS 26.2 waiting in the wings. Just tap install and your phone will do the rest. Please note that iOS 26.2 is a massive 12GB download, so ensure you’re connected to the internet before attempting to install it.

• Tables in Freeform can hold text, images, documents, and drawings, with cells that intelligently resize to fit, bringing structure to the infinite canvas
• Favourite Songs playlist appears in Top Picks on the home tab in Apple Music
• Offline lyrics for downloaded songs so you can view them without an internet connection

These new features are not the only reason to download iOS 26,2. Apple has also confirmed that it fixes a number of security issues and bugs. That means it’s recommended that all users install it without delay.
“This update includes enhancements to Apple Music, Podcasts and Games, as well as other features, bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone,” Apple confirmed.
