Motorola launched the Edge 70 Pro+ in India on June 23, 2026, positioning it as a mid-range phone with flagship-level battery life and camera capabilities. The phone starts at Rs 27,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant and goes up to Rs 30,999 for the 12GB/256GB model.
The launch event highlighted two key selling points: the 6,500mAh battery (one of the largest in any phone under Rs 35,000) and a 50MP pro-grade camera system co-engineered with details Motorola says draw from its Moto AI algorithms.
Battery and Charging
The 6,500mAh battery is the headline spec. Motorola claims the phone delivers up to two full days of moderate use. In PhoneArena’s early review testing, the Edge 70 Pro+ lasted 14 hours and 22 minutes in their standardized screen-on test, which puts it ahead of the OnePlus Nord 4 and Samsung Galaxy A55.
Charging is handled via 68W TurboPower wired charging, which Motorola says can take the battery from 0% to 50% in about 18 minutes. There’s no wireless charging on this model, which is one of the few omissions at this price.
Camera System
The triple-camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide with macro capability, and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is 32MP.
Motorola has added a “Pro Color” mode that applies computational photography adjustments tuned to different lighting conditions. The camera app also includes a dedicated long exposure mode and AI scene detection that works in real-time.
GSMArena’s initial camera samples show good color accuracy in daylight, though low-light performance trails behind the Pixel 8a and iPhone SE (4th Gen) in side-by-side comparisons.
Display and Processor
The 6.7-inch pOLED display runs at 144Hz with a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. It’s a significant upgrade over the Edge 50 Pro’s panel and ranks among the brightest displays in this price segment. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which handles day-to-day tasks smoothly but shows its limits in sustained gaming workloads.
The phone ships with Android 15 and Motorola’s Hello UI skin. Motorola has promised three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, which is competitive with Samsung’s mid-range update policy but falls short of Google’s seven-year commitment for the Pixel 8a.
Design and Build
The Edge 70 Pro+ measures 7.9mm thick and weighs 188g, which is lighter than most phones with 6,500mAh batteries. It uses an IP68-rated aluminum frame with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and a vegan leather back panel. Colors available are Midnight Blue, Nebula Green, and Sunset Copper.
The phone includes an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, and a USB-C 3.1 port.
Competition and Pricing
At Rs 27,999, the Edge 70 Pro+ competes directly with the OnePlus Nord 4 (Rs 29,999), Samsung Galaxy A56 (Rs 30,999), and Nothing Phone (3a) (Rs 24,999). Its battery advantage gives it a clear edge for users who prioritize endurance, while the 3x telephoto lens is something most competitors at this price lack.
Sales begin June 26 on Flipkart, Motorola’s own store, and select retail outlets. Launch offers include Rs 2,000 off with HDFC cards and a free pair of Motorola Buds 2 with pre-orders.
